Fire causes three-day halt at Tata soda ash plant but supply fears downplayed

A fire at the UK plant, which produces all of Tata Chemicals soda ash in Europe, has resulted in the loss of only thousand tonnes of production that the company has said it will quickly make up.

A fire at Tata Chemicals Europe's UK soda ash plant in Northwich on Friday June 8 resulted in production being halted for three days although it had no bearing on its ability to serve customers, the company said.
