China’s annual NEV 1H output up near 100%; battery-grade lithium prices dip

The price of battery-grade lithium dropped this week despite China’s increasing output and development of new energy vehicles (NEVs) in the first half of 2018 from year ago levels.

A total of 413,000 NEV units - including pure electric vehicles (PEVs) and plug-in hybrids - were produced in the first half of this year, up by 94.9% from a year earlier, while NEV sales rose to 412,000 units in January-June, up by 111.5% from the first half of 2017,...
