Bauxite, fused alumina prices stable amid concerns of new shutdowns

Prices for bauxite, brown-fused alumina (BFA) and white-fused alumina (WFA) have held since the drop in May and June, but supply may suffer yet another hit if calcination plant closures in Shanxi were to go ahead.

Prices of calcined bauxite as well as BFA and WFA remained stable over the past fortnight, while market participants warned of possible new shutdowns in China’s Shanxi province.
