China’s NEV output up 39% year-on-year in August

China’s output and sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) rose year-on-year in August, showing China’s sustained determination to promote NEVs to reduce air pollution. Meanwhile, lithium prices continued to fall on slow buying.

China produced 99,000 new energy vehicles (NEVs) in August 2018, including pure electric vehicles (PEVs) and plug-in hybrids. This volume was up by 39% from August last year, according to data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
