'Preventable' fire at Syrah's Balama graphite project hits output; Q3 production misses target

Syrah's third-quarter production came below revised forecasts, it said in its activities report which also identified the cause of the fire at its Mozambique project.

Australian Securities Exchange-listed graphite producer Syrah Resources said the root cause of a recent fire at its Mozambique Balama project on October 1, resulting in five weeks of lost production in the fourth quarter, was preventable.
