Kenmare reports lower output of ilmenite, rutile, zircon in Q3; higher costs persist

Kenmare Resources’ output of ilmenite, rutile and zircon declined in the third quarter of this year, despite higher volumes of ore mined. At the same time, persistent electricity supply issues resulted in higher costs for the producer.

Kenmare Resources, a leading global producer of heavy mineral sands (HMS) from its Moma Titanium Minerals Mine in northern Mozambique, has reported lower ilmenite, rutile and zircon output for the third quarter of 2018 despite higher volumes of ore mined and higher volumes of heavy mineral concentrates (HMC) produced.
