Rio Tinto lowers 2018 production guidance for aluminium, warns of financial losses in alumina

Anglo-Australian miner Rio Tinto has lowered its 2018 production guidance for aluminium by more than 4% due to an ongoing labor dispute at one of its Canada-based smelters.

Rio Tinto lowered its 2018 guidance for aluminium by more than 4% on Tuesday October 16, to reflect the impact of the ongoing lock-out at the Becancour smelter in Quebec, Canada.
