South African chromite sales fall in May, production recovering

Sales of high-purity chromite have dropped after reaching a three-year peak in April, with production output appearing to stabilize following a long decline. Chemical-grade chromite prices have adjusted downward, while foundry grades held stable.

Sales volumes of South African high-purity chromite dropped in May this year, reversing a previous surge that began at the start of the year, although the latest assessed levels remain higher than at this time in 2017.
