Iodine price continues to edge up despite rejection of higher distributor offers

Iodine price increases have slowed since the last week of July despite the market remaining under-supplied, but distributors have continued to test consumers with offers slightly above current market prices.

Since October 18, Fastmarkets IM has seen distributors attempting to push iodine prices higher with offers at $27.50 per kg, but they have been unable to achieve sales at that level due to being undercut by competitors or due to pushback from buyers.
