European silicon carbide prices rise on supply tightness, expectation of further increases

The expectation of higher prices in 2019, alongside tighter availability of material, has started pushing up silicon carbide prices in Europe.

Recent tight availability in the European silicon carbide market, shutdowns in China, higher production costs and the REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and restriction of Chemicals) protocols have led to higher price expectations for 2019 while end-of-year negotiations take place.
