Iodine market breaks $27 per kg threshold, having held firm for 11 weeks

Two market participants reported the iodine spot market was now above $27 per kg - a price distributors have been trying to breach for the past eight weeks.

The top end of the iodine price range finally joined the upward price trend this week, moving higher on mix of issues including reported production issues at Chile’s Algorta Norte and increased inquiries from Japan.
