Frac sand output starts at Atlas Sand's newest Texas mine

US frac sand miner Atlas Sand made the first deliveries from its new facility in the US state of Texas on Wednesday October 30, and production was expected to ramp up to a rate equivalent to 4 million short tons per year within the first six weeks.

The facility’s location in Monahans allows it to provide sand to the oil-bearing Permian Basin with minimal logistics costs.
