Chinese flake graphite imports soar in Nov

Chinese imports of flake graphite rose over 50% on the month in November and were up more than tenfold on the year, driven by zero import tariffs on cargoes from African countries.

Chinese flake graphite imports totaled 10,016 tonnes in November, up 51% from 6,653 tonnes in October, and up from 948 tonnes imported in the same month a year ago. In value terms, November’s flake graphite imports totaled $5.1 million, up from $3.2 million in October.
