Fall in well completions deters frac sand purchases

High-Crush's fourth-quarter frac sand sales missed expectations by a wide margin, with the number of well completions falling concurrent with a weakened WTI oil price.

United States-based frac sand producer Hi-Crush's sales plummeted in the fourth quarter of 2018 due to lower levels of fracking.

On January 7, Hi-Crush reported sales of just 1.97 million short tons in the fourth quarter of 2018, compared to 2.77 million short tons in the previous quarter of 2018....
