US government shutdown stalls Tronox-Cristal tie-up

The continuing saga of Tronox’s takeover of Cristal has gone through another twist, with a budget dispute in the United States stalling progress on the latest attempt to resolve anti-trust concerns.

A budget spat in the United States has put another roadblock in the way of Tronox’s planned takeover of rival titanium dioxide producer Cristal.

Tronox’s plan to become the world’s largest TiO2 producer, by acquiring Cristal from Saudi Arabian national investment vehicle Tasnee, was first announced in early 2017....
