Iodine price maintains upward trend

The price of iodine price has risen for a second week, while market participants query SQM’s latest proposed expansion.

Iodine prices rose for the second consecutive week on Thursday January 17, with undersupply supporting prices.

The price for iodine, min 99.5%, spot, delivered Europe/US, cif Asia, was $26.50-28.50 per kg, as assessed by Fastmarkets on Thursday.
