Argentina's crude steel output up 12% in 2018

Argentina’s crude steel output grew by 11.6% in 2018, according to figures released by national steel association Acero Argentino on Monday January 21.

Argentina produced 5.16 million tonnes of crude steel last year, compared with 4.62 million tonnes a year earlier.

The growth came despite the weakness of the country's main industries, which could result in an excessive increase of steel inventories, the association said.
