Falling oil price threatens US frac sand demand

Low oil prices in the US could stall the recovery in frac sand demand that was forecast for 2019.

Profit margins for frackers operating in the Permian Basin area of the southern United States are taking a hit from low oil prices, raising the possibility that the decline in demand for frac sand that was seen in the second half of 2018 will continue into 2019.
