US government shutdown stalls Tronox-Cristal tie-up

The continuing budget standoff in US politics between the president and the legislature has put TiO2 producer Tronox' takeover of Cristal on hold because no government staff are able to work on the process.

The partial government shutdown in the United States has put another roadblock in the way of Tronox’s planned takeover of rival titanium dioxide producer Cristal.
Tronox’s plan to become the world’s largest TiO2 producer, by acquiring Cristal from Saudi Arabian national investment vehicle Tasnee, was first announced in early 2017....
