Soda ash exports from China fall for third year running, official data shows

Environmental inspections in China are having the effect of reducing the country's exports of soda ash, with a large percentage of production being consumed domestically.

Chinese soda ash exports declined for the third year in a row between January and November 2018, with 1.26 million tonnes leaving Chinese ports, according to the latest data from China Customs.

Soda ash production has also been declining due to environmental inspections.
