US acidspar imports double in Q3 2018, USGS data shows

Import volumes of acid-grade fluorspar into the United States spiked in the third quarter of 2018 as a result of tight supply in the market.

Acid-grade fluorspar imports increased by 133% from the second to the third quarter of 2018, according to the latest data published by the US Geological Survey (USGS), an agency of the United States government.

From the second to the third quarter, acidgrade imports rose to 146,000 tonnes from 62,700 tonnes....
