Sluggish buying weighs on China’s magnesia prices

The price of fused magnesia (FM) and high-grade dead-burned magnesia (DBM) in China fell on inactive downstream demand and sufficient stocks, while more magnesia producers halt output following financial pressure from a sluggish market.

China’s magnesia market remained stagnant over the past week due to sufficient stocks and slow buying activity from the downstream refractory sector. FM and high-grade DBM prices moved down further while producers lowered prices to boost cash flow in a quiet market.
