Met-grade alumina prices plummet despite continued Alunorte absence

Fastmarkets' benchmark fob Australia metallurgical-grade alumina index fell to its lowest level in 14 months at the start of May in a subdued buyers' market.

Benchmark metallurgical-grade alumina prices are now trading at their lowest in over a year due to lack of buying appetite and excess cargoes in the market for May and June.
