Troubles at two US plants ‘will cost Chemours’ fluorobusiness $53 mln in 2019’

An unscheduled outage at one plant and issues with the ramping-up of another recently opened unit will combine to reduce earnings by $53 million in the first half of this year, Chemours said in a first-quarter earnings call.

The fluorine compounds business at US chemicals producer Chemours will take a total hit of $53 million this year because of problems at two of the company’s plants, according to information revealed in its first-quarter earnings call.
