Tronox reports lower sales in first quarter

Titanium dioxide producer Tronox reported falling volumes and prices, but hopes to see benefits from US tariffs and end of destocking.

Tronox reported a 14% year on year drop in pigmentsales in the first quarter of 2019, driven by lower volumes and slightly lower prices.

Sales volumes were 10%,, which was ascribed to continued destocking by buyers in Asia and European. Prices were down 2% on a local currency basis.
