Higher soda ash pricing reflected in Solvay's Q1 results

Despite market headwinds, Solvay reported positive first-quarter 2019 results for its soda ash segment, aided by improved pricing, the company's new chief executive officer said.
The Belgium-based multinational increased its soda ash sales
prices on flat supply and demand, according to Ilham Khadri,
Solvay's new CEO.
"We've been able to increase our prices and I'm very glad to
see that we are leading the way. What market leaders do
is...they can increase the prices...
