Iodine producers' aggressive offers push contract price up for second month running

The contract price for iodine rose again amid speculation of dwindling supply, but consumers are questioning whether the price hikes are backed by fundamentals.

Prices for iodine contracts moved higher for the second consecutive month, although market participants again raised question markets over the reported undersupply.

Fastmarkets IM assessed the price for iodine, min 99.5%, contract, at $27.50-30 per kg on Thursday May 30, up from $27-29 per kg in the previous month....
