Growth in China’s NEV output slows in May, but up 17% year on year

China’s output and sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) showed sluggish growth in May 2019 compared with previous four months, while lithium prices weakened because of quiet buying activity.

China produced 112,000 new energy vehicles (NEVs) in May 2019, including pure electric vehicles (PEVs) and plug-in hybrids. This volume was up by 16.9% from May 2018, according to the latest data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
