CHEMSPEC 19: Rush to maximize refrigerant output in China ahead of quotas will increase demand for fluorspar

Chinese refrigerant companies are looking to maximize output before capacities are fixed and then reduced annually until the more environmentally harmful chemicals are phased out altogether.

Chinese companies are boosting refrigerant output to raise allowances before quotas are set and production of specific chemicals is capped by the government, sources said at this year’s Chemspec event, the 34th International Exhibition for Fine and Speciality Chemicals.
