EU-Mercosur trade deal offers minerals traders improved access to South America, Europe

A deal struck between the European Union and South America’s Mercosur trading group will boost trade between the two blocs in industrial minerals and related products, Fastmarkets heard this week.

The agreement must now be ratified by both sides, but it is intended to phase out all EU duties charged on industrial goods over a 10-year period, the European Commission said on Tuesday July 2.
