China threatens to cut off rare earth supplies to US military buyers

China could restrict the sale of rare earths to the United States, specifically for the use in the country's military.

China intends to make its new rare earth policies public soon, a spokesperson for Chinese state planning agency NDRC said on Monday June 17, raising fears that United States military buyers will be cut out of the market.
