China’s NEV output up 48.5% year-on-year in H1

China’s output of new energy vehicles (NEVs) continued to rise in the first half of 2019 year on year, with data showing a greater increase in June 2019 after slow annual growth in April and May. Lithium prices were under downward pressure from sluggish demand.

China produced a total of 614,000 new energy vehicles (NEVs) in the first half of 2019. This was up by 48.5% from a year earlier and included both pure electric vehicles (PEVs) and plug-in hybrids, Fastmarkets has learnt.

Sales of these NEVs rose by 49.6% to 617,000 units...
