China’s crude steel output rises 10% in H1

China’s crude steel and finished steel output both increased by about a 10th in the first six months of 2019 amid steady growth in demand and healthy profit margins for steelmakers in the country.

Steel mills in China produced 492.17 million tonnes of crude steel in the January-June period, up 9.9% from a year earlier, the country's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said on Monday July 15.
