Rio Tinto slag production rebounds after 2018 labor disputes, furnace closures

Rio Tinto is planning a major investment in its South African mineral sand and titanium slag subsidiary, while production volumes bounce back from a troubled 2018.

Rio Tinto’s production of titanium slag jumped to 303,000 tonnes in the second quarter of 2019, up by 31% year-on-year, while the company recovers from production difficulties in Canada and South Africa.
