China’s refractory materials output down 8.9% in H1 2019

Strict environmental inspections and decreasing production continued to add pressure to China’s refractories output in the first half of 2019, while magnesia and graphite prices were under downward pressure on weak demand.
China’s total output of refractory materials
was 8.61 million tonnes in the first half of 2019, down by
8.91% from 9.45 million tonnes in the same period of 2018,
according to data from the China Association of
Refractories.
