Chemours buys Southern Ionics' mineral sand arm

Chemours has purchesed Southern Ionics Minerals, increasing its access to US-mined ilmenite.

Titanium dioxide producer Chemours has nearly doubled its in-house mineral sand capacity via the acquisition of Southern Ionics Minerals (SIM).

Chemours announced the purchase of the Florida-based mineral sand miner and processor from parent company Southern Ionics Inc on August 2.
