Chinese flake graphite imports hit new high

China imported record volumes of flake graphite in June, in line with the development of the lithium-ion anode industry.

China imported 21,486 tonnes of flake graphite in June 2019, up by 1% month on month and up fourfold year on year, according to official but unconfirmed data seen by Fastmarkets.

Of this total, 14,864 tonnes came from Mozambique, accounting for 70% of total Chinese imports.
