Ciech confirms end to soda ash production at Romania plant

Chemicals producer Ciech is looking for an alternative source for a necessary supply of steam, so that production of soda ash from its Romanian asset can restart, but no decision will be taken before the end of the year.

Poland-based chemicals producer Ciech’s soda ash plant in Romania was scheduled to stop production today, Wednesday September 18, but the company will continue to look for an alternative supply of steam for its factory so it can resume production, a company statement said.
