China’s NEV output, sales continue negative growth in Aug

China’s output and sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) continued their negative growth in August 2019 following its first negative growth in July, while lithium prices remained under downward pressure with lower prices maintained in the spot market.

China produced 87,000 NEVs in August 2019, including pure electric vehicles (PEVs) and plug-in hybrids, down by 12.1% from August 2018, according to the latest data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
