UNITECR 2019: Opaque China prospects affecting planning ability for refractories industry – delegates

The supply chains of refractory raw materials as well as finished products could be drastically affected by China’s economic performance and political stance, but refractories operators lament a lack of visibility for strategy planning.

Uncertainty regarding the industrial performance of China in 2020 makes it "impossible" for market participants active in refractories to plan ahead, delegates told Fastmarkets at the Unified International Technical Conference on Refractories (UNITECR) in Yokohama, Japan, on Monday October 14.
