China’s September output, sales for NEVs show third month of year-on-year slower growth

China’s output and sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) showed a third consecutive month of negative growth in September 2019 after the ending of subsidies in late June. Lithium prices remained soft and under downward pressure.

China produced 89,000 new energy vehicles (NEVs) in September 2019, including pure electric vehicles (PEVs) and plug-in hybrids. This volume was down by 29.9% from September 2018, according to the latest data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
