Chile's lithium mines said to have avoided disruption from countrywide riots

Lithium production in Chile has so far avoided disruption as a result of the riots and looting that have swept across the country since the middle of last week, sources told Fastmarkets on Monday October 28.

According to local media reports last week, civil unrest spilled out of the cities and into other regions, including the Atacama salt flats where the country's lithium operations are centered. But the problems have so far had little impact on lithium production, sources said.
