China’s DBM and FM magnesia exports fell in October

Chinese exports of dead burned magnesia and fused magnesia slumped in October from the same month of 2018 due to lower demand but caustic calcined magnesia exports rose slightly.

Market participants attributed a sizable year-on-year drop in exports of dead-burned magnesia from China in October to reduced buying interest from overseas buyers.

China exported 63,090 tonnes of dead burned magnesia (DBM) in October, down by 32.4% from 93,281 tonnes in October 2018, according to official Chinese customs data.
