Richards Bay Minerals suspends operation amid escalation of violence

Miner Rio Tinto has suspended operations at its Richards Bay Minerals (RBM) facility in South Africa citing a reprise of unrest and violence, the company said on Wednesday December 4.

Rio Tinto noted an "escalation of criminal activity towards RBM employees," with at least one employee "seriously injured in the last few days."
