China flake graphite imports jump by 330% in Jan-Oct vs year earlier

China imported 175,113 tonnes of flake graphite during the first 10 months of 2019, up by 330% year on year from 40,754 tonnes in 2018, according to official but unconfirmed data seen by Fastmarkets.

The surge of flake graphite imports in the first 10 months of the year reflects the growing availability of material from east Africa, especially Mozambique, that is shipped to China.
