Fluoropolymer pricing down on oversupply from China; consumers hold bleak outlook

Any oversupply in the end markets could well continue for the medium-term given that the fluorochemical producers will maximize output over the next two years, in line with government legislation.

Fluorspar consumers outside of China are complaining about poor demand for fluoropolymer products, citing weakness in end-market pricing due to oversupply from China.

Consumer sources say the outlook for the fluoropolymer market in the coming years is poor because Chinese companies could increase output in the years up to 2022. ...
