Imerys acquires Chinese abrasives producer

The acquisition of an abrasives producer in Shandong province will give France’s Imerys access to an additional 25,000 tonnes per year of fused alumina capacity, as well as smaller volumes of semi-friable and ceramic alumina.

France-headquartered minerals producer and processor Imerys Group has announced that it has acquired a manufacturer of abrasives minerals in China.

Imerys now has majority ownership of Shandong Luxin Mount Tai Co, after taking control of 65% of the company, based in Zibo in Shandong province, with a view to expanding...
