Specialty alumina producer Almatis said it will rely on its global supply chain of manufacturing facilities to fulfill existing orders of tabular alumina following a fire at its German plant last week.
The manufacturer of products including tabular, calcined and
reactive alumina suffered a
fire and explosion at its main plant in Ludwingshafen,
Germany, the night between 15-16 January.
The sintering production line for tabular alumina was the
main operation affected, while the calcination and grinding
lines were reportedly unaffected.
