Flake graphite prices flat in China but logistics problems will tighten supply

Prices of flake graphite in China remained unchanged in the week to Thursday February 27, with factories in Qingdao gradually returning to the markets. But sources warned of possible supply tightness because of logistics disruptions in Heilongjiang, the country’s leading flake graphite production region.

Fastmarkets assessed the price of graphite flake 94% C, -100 mesh, fob China, at $540 per tonne on Thursday, stable from where it was at the end of 2019 and, indeed, unchanged since August last year.
