Coronavirus fails to dent China’s crude steel production in Jan-Feb

China’s crude steel output increased in the first two months of the year despite the spread of novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) across the country in February, according to data released by National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Monday March 16.

Market analysts suggested that mill stockpiles of raw materials allowed them to maintain a higher rate of crude steel output over January-February.
